The Manulife Danang International Marathon was one of the first Marathons in Vietnam to be certified by IAAF-AIMS and paved the way for Da Nang to become a preeminent global sports vacation spot.

Held since 2013 in the ever-beautiful city of Da Nang the race has been enticing international runners to explore and visit this most liveable city of Vietnam.

Da Nang is located on the coast midway between Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City and is the largest city of Central Vietnam. My Khe beach, one part of Da Nang’s 30km of pristine coastline, was voted one of the most stunning beaches on the planet by Forbes Magazine.

It is located at the central point which connects three UNESCO World Heritage sites: The Hue Imperial Citadel, Hoi An Ancient Town, and My Son Sanctuary, Da Nang is also known as home to the longest suspension bridge in Vietnam (Thuan Phuoc), the only swing bridge in Vietnam (Han River Bridge) and the marvellous Dragon Bridge, which was voted as one of the most beautiful bridges in the world. The city is full of exciting adventures to explore alongside a trip to the marathon.

Even though the city has grown rapidly in recent years Da Nang retains its refreshing and peaceful environment with nature blending harmoniously into its surroundings. The people of Da Nang are known for their friendliness and kindness to visitors. All these things come together to provide the ideal atmosphere of relaxation before and after a marathon.

The Marathon course runs along the beautiful east coastline. Both Marathon and Half Marathon cross one of the most phenomenal bridges which further enhances the allure of this “Top 3 Marathon in Southeast Asia”.

The sights and sounds in combination with the peace and fresh air make for a most memorable race in any runner’s experience. It’s definitely worth doing as one of anyone’s running milestones.

Since 2014 the Manulife Danang International Marathon has changed the way sporting events in South-east Asia are viewed and organised. It has had an incredibly positive impact on tourism in the region. Attracting nearly 50,000 participants the marathon is paving the way for sport and tourism industries in Southeast Asia as it continues on its mission to become a must-do marathon. Each year the event works hard to positively impact Da Nang by bringing runners to the city and putting it on the map as an outstanding tourist location.

Mark Da Nang as your must-not-miss destination in Southeast Asia. Come during the first week of August to experience Asia’s-Go-To Manulife Danang International Marathon.

Pulse Active organises the marathon and is a pioneer in the sports events industry in Vietnam. Other events it organises range from the competitive Challenge Vietnam and Le Fruit Triathlon to recreational fun runs (Color Me Run and PRISMA – The Night Run). Participation in each event increases every year, expanding the sporting community in Vietnam as well as further developing the sports tourism program in the country.
