Participants experience one of the most iconic courses in Southeast Asia as the route takes runners past many key historical landmarks and finishes with spectacular views of the city skyline.

Ho Chi Minh City brims with history and a culture that creates the stage for a truly inspiring backdrop to the marathon.

Nearly 5000 runners from more than 40 countries crossed the finish line of the inaugural edition last year. A substantial increase in the field is expected based on the positive feedback from the first race.

Three race distances are offered: Marathon, Half Marathon and 10km. It is a ‘Family Fitness and Lifestyle Weekend’ which presents plenty of opportunities to get involved and become inspired. Every year families enjoy the festive atmosphere of the Marathon Village as children take part in supervised activities. This allows younger athletes to also enjoy activities, receive gifts from partners and take part in the Kids Run. One of the highlights of the Marathon weekend is watching the faces of children completing their first race, earning a race t-shirt and crossing the same finish line as the Marathon runners. To top it all off, there is the proud moment when they receive their first race medal.

The Marathon Village features one of the largest Sports Expos in Vietnam. Runners pick up their race packs, buy the latest sports fashion and clothing, enjoy local food and flavours, participate in contests, enjoy live music and attend talks by leaders in the field.

By participating in the Techcombank Ho Chi Minh City International Marathon athletes who finish can achieve their own personal goals but they can also change lives through the charitable donation programmes. For participants who complete the race within the stipulated cut-off time a donation of 10,000 VND per kilometre is made to the designated race charity.

This must-attend event on the Southeast Asian race calendar is about participation and being a part of something beyond the individual. Recognised for its inclusiveness, this Marathon event is for runners, fitness enthusiasts and supporters. It offers a moving experience, a personal challenge, an effective way to raise money for charity, a fun weekend out with family and friends and one of the best ways to see all that Ho Chi Minh City has to offer.
