This year the biggest marathon in Russia celebrates its fifth anniversary. The Marathon Team invites runners from around the world to share this significant day.
The Marathon offers a spectacular tour of Russia’s capital. Over the course of the race participants will be able to see more than 30 world-famous attractions, including the Kremlin, the Cathedral of Christ the Saviour, the Bolshoi Theatre, Moscow City, and four of the Seven Sisters skyscrapers.
Run along the beautiful embankment of the Moskva River and under the walls of the Kremlin, cross the Krymsky Bridge, high-five the spectators on Tverskaya Street and reach the finish line at the Luzhniki Olympic Complex. On the run is definitely the best way to enjoy Moscow.
In 5 years since its first edition the Promsvyazbank Moscow Marathon has become a popular part of life in modern Russia. The number of participants almost doubles every year. In 2016 more than 18,700 runners finished the race and a new course record of 2:13:40 was set.
Each year hundreds of runners from over 70 countries (including USA, Great Britain, China and France) participate in this greatest of Russian marathons. They appreciate the beautiful course, high standard of organisation and perfect weather for running. The average temperature on race day is +16C.
This year the Promsvyazbank Moscow Marathon is planning to attract 32,000 participants. They will run alongside the Marathon’s ‘ambassadors’ such as Vera Zvonareva, a famous tennis player and social activist. The main streets of Moscow will also host special hand bike and wheelchair races. Starting this year friends, families and fans from all over the world will be able to watch transmission of the race live online.
Registration is already open. You can choose either the Marathon or the 10km race.
