Standard Chartered Bangkok Marathon
Sun 15 November 2015
Anyone arriving at the start and finish area of this year’s 28th edition cannot fail to be impressed by the popular touristic sites that surround them. It lies in the very heart of Bangkok right alongside the Royal Grand Palace, the Temple of the Emerald Buddha (officially known as Wat Phra Sri Rattana Satsadaram), Saranrom Park, the Ministry of Defence building and many more prominent landmarks.
The marathon starts before dawn and uses a unique course on the ‘skyway’ and the bridge across the Chao Phraya River – a sight in itself. The route, passes through a series of communities, taking more than 35,000 runners on an interesting tour through the various localities. Last year the race hosted 5000 foreign runners from 59 countries.
You have the choice between the Marathon, a half marathon or 10km and 4.5km runs.
