Irish Life Dublin Marathon
Sun 25 October 2026
Three runners from around the world will win an all-inclusive trip to Dublin, including guaranteed race entry, flights, accommodation, and sightseeing experiences.
City Sightseeing has launched the latest edition of its global Marathon Challenge, giving runners from around the world the chance to secure one of the last remaining entries for the sold-out Dublin Marathon 2026, taking place on 25 October.
With all 22,500 race places now allocated, apart from a limited number reserved for official charity partners, the competition offers a rare opportunity for three lucky runners to take part in one of Europe’s most sought-after marathon events while enjoying a fully hosted city break in the Irish capital.
Applications are now open at themarathonchallenge.com and will remain open until 20 July. Three winners will be selected in the categories Best Time (Male), Best Time (Female) and Best Story, answering the question: Why would you like to run the Dublin Marathon?
Each winner will receive a complete marathon package including return flights, hotel accommodation, guaranteed race entry, transfers, meals, and the opportunity to explore Dublin through City Sightseeing’s hop-on hop-off bus tour and a selection of the city’s leading visitor attractions.
Now in its 13th edition, the City Sightseeing Marathon Challenge combines two of the world’s fastest-growing travel trends—running and city breaks—by enabling participants to discover leading destinations through internationally recognised marathons.
The Dublin Marathon has become one of Europe’s most popular marathon events, attracting runners from across the globe thanks to its welcoming atmosphere, scenic course through the city and exceptional crowd support. This year’s event reached capacity months before race day, reflecting the growing global demand for destination marathons.
“The Marathon Challenge reflects what City Sightseeing is all about: discovering cities through unforgettable experiences,” said Enrique Ybarra, Founder and CEO at City Sightseeing.
“Every year we invite runners to explore a new destination through one of its most iconic sporting events. With the Dublin Marathon selling out once again, we’re delighted to offer three runners the opportunity not only to take part, but also to experience everything this remarkable city has to offer.”
The competition is open to runners worldwide. Three winners will be selected in the categories Best Time (Male), Best Time (Female) and Best Story. Winners receive guaranteed Dublin Marathon entry, return flights, hotel accommodation, meals, transfers, City Sightseeing bus tickets, and admission to leading attractions. The Dublin Marathon takes place on 25 October 2026. Entries close on 20 July. Winners will be announced on 24 July.
