Münster repeats “plogging” initiative

Plogging is simply picking up litter while jogging – the good feeling of doing something for your health, combined with the satisfaction of contributing to the environment and a better quality of life in Münster.

Together with awm and the Münster Running Club, we are planning another edition of this successful event this year, and we would like to emphasize that everyone should please put their own trash in the designated containers to avoid harming the environment. The plogging event will take place on Wednesday, July 15, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. The meeting point is the Sentruper Höhe sports complex.

Anyone interested is welcome, but prior registration at info@volksbank-muenster-marathon.de is required, as there is a participant limit and we also need to plan for the necessary litter-collecting equipment. The “running litter collectors” will primarily be focusing on Münster’s Aasee lake and its surrounding area that evening, as it is a popular destination for tourists. With this initiative, we also want to demonstrate our appreciation for the work of our waste management company, awm.

As the organizers of the Münster Marathon and the LSF Münster running club, and also as a waste management company, we hope for strong participation and for everyone to be aware of the importance of protecting the environment by doing their part. We look forward to seeing many of you there.
