For the third time, the Volksbank Münster Marathon brought the Stift Tilbeck Foundation to life.
Between 300 and 350 participants gathered on this spring-like day to celebrate Diversity Day together with seven running coaches and two other organizers from Münster-Marathon e.V.
Stift Tilbeck had lovingly marked the 2.5 km loop around its grounds, highlighting tree roots and preparing the area beautifully. A mix of woods, meadows, and paved road awaited the runners, who completed between one and four laps.
In his opening remarks, Guido Hoffmann from Stift Tilbeck welcomed those present and thanked his team for the preparation and organization. He also expressed his gratitude to Münster-Marathon e.V. for providing the running coaches, who once again went to great lengths to support and motivate the runners.
“It was another incredibly moving and wonderful day,” said Klaus Anders, who was serving as a running coach for the third time. Young and old, people with and without disabilities – everyone ran this magnificent course together. Some even surpassed their own expectations and, under the guidance of the coaches, dared to complete a second, third, or even fourth lap.
A 700-meter circuit for those with more severe disabilities was also popular, providing an opportunity for physical activity.
Michael Brinkmann, Chairman of Münster-Marathon e.V., also mentioned the Alexianer Inclusion Run, which will take place as part of the Volksbank Münster Marathon on Sunday, September 13, 2026, at 12:00 noon, on the final kilometer of the marathon course. A thoroughly successful sporting event where everyone was a winner.
