Live stream for Košice

At the same time, we wanted to reach marathon enthusiasts around the globe – and that’s how the Košice Peace Marathon Live Stream with English commentary was born.

Thanks to our cooperation with the national broadcaster, which will provide the international signal, our expert team will prepare and stream the coverage live on www.kosicemarathon.com.

The voice guiding viewers through the action on October 5th will be James Thie – a former world-class miler and today a respected athletics journalist and commentator for BBC and Eurosport. And it won’t be just any studio commentary – James will deliver his insights live from Košice, arriving on a direct flight from London.

At the head of the 17,000-strong field of runners from around the world will be those attracting the most attention – the athletes battling for overall victory and the honor of having their names engraved in bronze beneath the famous Košice Statue of the Marathon Runner.

It comes as no surprise that they hail from Africa, the continent that has set the pace in long-distance running for decades. They will be following in the footsteps of one of the greatest – Abebe Bikila, the first African Olympic champion in Rome 1960, who came to Košice just a year after his triumph in the Eternal City and left no doubt about his dominance.
