Košice Peace Marathon
Sun 5 October 2025
Despite extensive efforts to open more slots, the organizers of the Košice Peace Marathon 2025 have had to suspend standard online registration roughly a month before race day.
This decision came once the number of runners across the marathon weekend disciplines reached the set limit of 17,000 registered athletes.
The only remaining option for new participants is to use registration codes allocated to partners and companies cooperating with Košice Peace Marathon, in line with their contracts and pre-orders.
For those already registered, several important deadlines are approaching:
Runners may switch between the marathon and half marathon disciplines directly in their runner’s account until September 12, 9:00 a.m.
Postponing participation to the 2026 edition is possible until September 25.
A full overview of all key details is available now in the Final Instructions document published on the race website.
The pacing team for both marathon and half marathon will once again be provided in close cooperation with bart.sk.
Beyond the excellent feedback from previous years, the partnership thrives because many experienced runners within the company are eager to support fellow participants.
After last year’s successful pacing group targeting a marathon finish time of 2:50, a new challenge awaits: a pacer flag with the time 1:25, setting the pace for ambitious half marathoners.
Returning this year as well is the unique WhatsApp community, where participants can access updates about training sessions, pacer organization at the start, and freely ask questions on any related topics.
In the marathon, these pacers will be available for target times from 3:00 to 4:30, and in the half marathon from 1:25 to 2:15. The complete pacer line-up for this year’s Košice Marathon is available at pacer.bart.sk.
The start line in Košice draws thousands of runners and captivates hundreds of thousands more watching from home.
Exceptional public interest has led Slovak Television to broadcast the event live on its flagship channel, One (Jednotka).
Good news also awaits international fans: the broadcast will be available worldwide on October 5 via the public broadcaster’s website.
And more is on the way. In just a few days, we will share details of an additional streaming format that will be accessible from anywhere across the globe – featuring expert English commentary by James Thie.
