The inaugural Hudson Mile (H1M), the newest full member of AIMS and the first-ever AIMS-certified one-mile USATF course in the United States, officially launched this summer in Hudson, NY.

Just two hours north of New York City, the Hudson Mile offers a fast, scenic route through one of the Hudson Valley’s most vibrant corridors.

Designed with a net downhill of 92 feet (28 meters), the course promises personal bests and serves as a primer for the New York one-mile race circuit. With the historic streets of Hudson as its backdrop, the race blends speed, culture, and community.

Race Director Jorge Pardo, a decorated distance runner (2:21:13 marathon, 4:01 mile), envisioned the event as a celebration of both athleticism and place.

“The Hudson Mile is more than a race — it’s the start of a broader summer street initiative to turn Warren Street into a car-free corridor filled with runners, walkers, and cultural programming,” said Pardo.

Founded alongside Animo Racing teammates Kendall Turner and Jon Boka, the 2025 Hudson Mile hosted 176 participants, with standout performances from Kevin Meehan (4:18) and Melissa Ganz (4:37) setting the inaugural course records. The kids’ race also impressed, with Jack Hamilton (6:01, age 9) and Hadley Hamilton (7:27, age 6) leading the next
generation.

“We kept the field small to ensure a premium experience, and with overwhelmingly positive feedback, we’re planning to grow the race to 500 participants in 2026,” added Pardo.

Extending its reach beyond Hudson, a virtual sister race took place on the same day in Dhaka, Bangladesh, in collaboration with RunBangla, a long-time AIMS member. This international connection marked a unique step in uniting global running communities under the Hudson Mile ethos.

With its promising debut, the Hudson Mile is poised to become a marquee event in the U.S. road racing calendar — a true convergence of speed, community, and global connection.
