Starting places assigned by chance for the first time

Lottery opens for Berlin Half places

The lottery for places to run the 2026 edition of the Berlin Half Marathon is now open.

Organisers said: “With 40,721 runners from 135 nations, the 2025 edition was by far the biggest and most spectacular Generali Berlin Half Marathon ever. This makes it one of the biggest half marathons in the world.

“The 45th anniversary edition of the Generali Berlin Half Marathon on March 29 2026, is expected to attract a great deal of interest in participating. Thanks to the lottery system, all interested parties have an equal chance of getting a starting place during the registration period.”

Registration for the lottery for starting places is open from April 10 to May 22, 2025.

Registration for skaters, wheelchair users and handbikers also starts on April 10. Here, registration will take place without a lottery.
