Registrations are now officially open for the Fourth Edition of the Sarmang Dehradun Marathon, scheduled for Sunday, 05 October 2025.

Announced on the auspicious occasion of Ram Navami, the registration launch invites runners from across India and around the globe to be a part of this extraordinary racing experience.

Organized by Sarmang Society, a non-profit dedicated to promoting health, fitness, and endurance sports, the Sarmang Dehradun Marathon has steadily risen to prominence as a high-quality race in India’s running calendar. Held in the Himalayan foothills, the course offers breathtaking natural beauty paired with top-notch race management and runner experience.

The race course is certified by World Athletics and the Association of International Marathons and Distance Races (AIMS), ensuring global recognition. It is also directed by a certified RRCA Race Director, upholding the highest international standards in marathon organization.

The Fourth Edition of the Sarmang Dehradun Marathon is also officially a qualifying race for the Abbott World Marathon Majors Wanda Age Group World Rankings. This makes it an exceptional opportunity for Indian and international runners aiming to earn points and qualify for one of the most prestigious series in global distance running.

Set in the outskirts of Dehradun, the course meanders through lush forests, runs alongside a tranquil river, and showcases majestic hills in the backdrop. Far from the noise and congestion of urban marathons, this route offers participants a refreshing and rejuvenating experience in nature’s lap.

Race Director Anil Mohan shared, “We’ve designed the Sarmang Dehradun Marathon not just as a race, but as an experience. Running through the serenity of the Himalayan foothills, surrounded by nature, gives every participant something more than just a medal—it’s a memory for life. With global recognition and world-class standards, we’re excited to welcome runners from across the world to this hidden gem of India.”

The marathon includes a variety of race categories: the full marathon (42.195 KM), half marathon (21.097 KM), 10K, 5K, and a 2K fun run, catering to elite athletes, amateur runners, and families alike. Participants can expect a well-supported race day with aid stations, hydration points, medical support, and a festive atmosphere celebrating community, wellness, and the spirit of endurance.

With running culture growing rapidly in Indian metros like Mumbai, Delhi, Bengaluru, and Chennai, and extending to emerging fitness cities such as Bhopal, Lucknow, and Kochi, the Sarmang Dehradun Marathon is becoming a must-run destination race. It’s not just a race—it’s an experience, set against the stunning natural canvas of the Himalayan foothills.
