StraLugano registrations are open

Registrations are open on the website www.stralugano.ch for the new edition of the queen running race of the Lugano lakeside. Now in its 19th edition, the StraLugano is ready to flood the weekend of 27 and 28 September with a multitude of runners who will compete in the various races designed to satisfy everyone’s age, tastes and athletic preparation.

Kicking off the event, on Saturday 27 September at 4:00 pm, there will be confirmation of the 2024 novelty: the FAMIGROS RUN&WIN, a non-competitive race dedicated to families that will allow you to win magnificent prizes. Also in the afternoon, at 4:45 p.m., the 5km FunRun will start, a race that winds for 5,000 m along the banks of Lake Ceresio and through Parco Ciani, dedicated to those who want to try their hand at a short-distance race suitable for everyone, even the less trained.

To close the day, at 6:15 p.m., the distance is doubled and the 10Km CityRun starts, a fascinating route that winds along the entire lakeside of Lugano and the streets of the city.

On Sunday 28 September, the first start at 9:30 a.m. is entrusted to the Monte Brè Run (from this year a stage of the ASTI cup): a 9 km panoramic route, with a difference in altitude of about 730 m. that will take you to the “roof” of Lugano.

At 10:00 the queen race will start, the 21km Half Marathon, the half marathon with a breathtaking view that touches the main points of the lakeside from Paradiso to the Ponte del Diavolo.

You can choose whether to run the 21 km alone or split the effort with 3 friends in the relay version of the 21Km HM RelayRun, ideal for strengthening synergies and improving teamwork.

For the more athletic, there is the possibility of competing in the StraCombinata, the race that combines the 10Km CityRun on Saturday evening with the Monte Brè Run on Sunday: a challenge for complete and determined athletes that offers incredible emotions.

At 1:45 pm the popular Run4Charity will take place, a 3 km non-competitive race accessible to everyone, in an environment of total solidarity to support the charitable organizations participating in the 4Charity program.

The children will close the event from 3:00 pm on the afternoon of Sunday 28 September with the KidsRun. A route with different distances depending on the age group, to offer all the kids the chance to compete with a smile.

Whatever the race chosen, no one will be without the eco-sustainable commemorative medal with a charming and colorful design and the rich race pack, with which each participant is honored with a magnificent technical T-shirt and several surprises.

Finally, we remind you that to reach the StraLugano, as has been the case for several years, it is worth using the free transport promotion with Swiss Runners Ticket (buses and trains) from any region of Switzerland and also usable by foreigners starting from the border station entering our country. For all participants in the timed races it will therefore be possible to leave the car at home and use public transport to and from their home.
