New route for Swiss City Marathon

Key planning steps include coordination with local authorities, emergency services, and communities across the cantons of Lucerne, Nidwalden, and Obwalden.

Additionally, the official international course measurement is scheduled, along with traffic and road closure planning.

To improve race flow, we have adjusted start times:

CityRun 10KM & CharityRun 10KM in Horw will now start between 08:58 – 09:15 AM, ensuring a clear route all the way to the finish at the Verkehrshaus. Marathon runners will start earlier in Lucerne between 08:28 – 08:38 AM, followed by the Half Marathon from 09:58 – 12:00 PM.

These changes help optimize race day logistics, from arrival and on-course experience to the finish line and on your way home.

More than 8,000 runners have already registered for the SwissCityMarathon – Lucerne! Due to the high demand for half marathon spots, we have now opened an additional start slot at 12:00 PM. Don’t miss your chance to secure your spot and be part of the running highlight in October.

Designed in collaboration with our Official Partner Salomon, this premium shirt is included in the race entry fee for Marathon (42KM) and Half Marathon (21KM) participants. Runners in the CityRun 10KM and CharityRun 10KM have the option to add it to their registration for CHF 25.00.
