Rock ’n’ Roll Las Vegas Marathon & Half Marathon
Sun 16 November 2014
It’s a marathon experience unlike any other. With a course running under the neon lights of the famous Las Vegas Strip, the Rock ‘n’ Roll Las Vegas Marathon & Half Marathon to Benefit the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation of America takes place on the Sunday night. In addition to the marathon and half marathon, the ‘Zappos.com 1/2 of the Half’ offers runners a unique tour of Las Vegas in half the distance (10.55km).
The course runs on both sides of Las Vegas Boulevard, with participants stretched across all eight lanes of the Strip to offer the ultimate neon-lit block party at night. The finish line venue is conveniently located less than one mile from more than 15 resorts, providing runners with a short walk back to their respective hotels after completing the event.
In addition to live bands performing along the course, the Las Vegas event is renowned for hundreds of people running dressed as Elvis. The infamous Running Elvises will rock the strip in white lycra, sequins and wigs to add their own Las Vegas flair. Every year the event also includes a Run-Thru Wedding Chapel where runners can tie the knot or renew their vows.
Race weekend begins with a free two-day Health & Fitness Expo where all participants go to pick up their race number, swag bag and t-shirt. It will feature more than 100 running and fitness retailers, exhibits and clinics.
