If you are ready for a new adventure join us at the 33rd ASICS Austrian Women’s Run. You will experience one of the world’s largest sporting events for women in the most live-able city in the world.

You can combine the run with a nice sightseeing or shopping weekend in Vienna and the city is famous for culture: its historical buildings, imperial sites, arts and music.

For the first time in the race’s history a hybrid event will be offered featuring a virtual run in parallel to the on-site event. This will allow every female runner who wants to take part to do so irrespective of the COVID-19 situation and whether it is possible to travel or not.

True to our motto: “We run to move” it’s about more than running. It’s about solidarity, courage, recognition and setting goals – together we can achieve them. “Running made me brave and strong. And this is what I want for all women and girls out there” says founder and event organiser Ilse Dippmann. “Join us, get inspired and make a strong statement for women and girls.”

Dippmann organised the Austrian Women’s Run for the first time in 1988 with 440 women and girls taking part. The event grew year by year. Over 35,000 female runners from more than 90 nations turned the the 30th anniversary race into an unforgettable running experience infused with the unique women’s run spirit. The Women’s run had attracted more than 30,000 runners for eight successive years before the impact of COVID-19 brought the curtain down on the 2020 event. This makes it one of the world’s largest sporting events for women.

The course is in the beautiful green oasis, the Prater. The flat, fast course is within sight of Vienna’s world-famous Giant Ferris Wheel – and you can run in the footsteps of Eliud Kipchoge, who posted his barrier-breaking 1:59:40.2 time for the marathon distance here in October 2019.

At the ASICS Austrian women’s Run you can choose from a 5km or 10km run, or take part in the 5km Nordic Walking event. The Children’s Run is the highlight of the previous day.

Every year we look to become more sustainable. We offer electronic tickets, a goodie bag made of cotton and an ASICS shirt made of 100% recycled polyester. We use ecological toilets, drinks from rePET bottles and reusable green chips for timing.

Before the run every participant receives the popular goodie bag as well as the sought-after ASICS Austrian Women’s Run shirt that conveys the spirit of the run and inspires every year with a new unique design. After crossing the finish line you are rewarded with a medal and a rose, before enjoying our festivities together with your family and friends at our Women’s Run Fairground.

So join us on 3 October to enjoy an unforgettable running experience send a strong statement for all women and girls out there.
