A warm welcome to Pafos – the city on the southwest coast of the Mediterranean island of Cyprus, with its own international airport and where the sun shines throughout the whole year.

Pafos Region is a destination combining history, hospitality, fun, relaxation and adventure. It is a beautiful city to visit for all reasons during all seasons, and especially for the Logicom Cyprus Marathon in March.

It is the most historic Marathon in Cyprus. It has been held since 1999 in the ancient and historic capital city. The Logicom Cyprus Marathon has grown bigger and better over the years and hosts over 3600 runners from 65 countries. This multi-cultural event combines picturesque scenery and a pleasant Mediterranean climate in a choice of hospitality packages. The organisation, marshalling, logistics, amenities, safety precautions and entertainment are amongst the best in the world.

It is a complete running experience and where runners from all over the world get together to celebrate the human spirit, through our most remarkable sport: a sport that showcases and challenges the human limits – the Marathon.

The event incorporates four different distances: Marathon, Half-Marathon, the 10km Road Race and the 5km Family Fun Run. The Marathon course starts from ‘Petra tou Romiou’, the birthplace of Aphrodite, our goddess of love and beauty, and finishes at the Pafos Medieval Castle by the harbour. The race features breath-taking scenery from start to finish and the course follows a flat coastal route alongside the Mediterranean Sea. For the marathon a free coach to the start and baggage service is provided to all runners.

Throughout the course the participants will pass traditional Cypriot villages. There are fluid stations every 3km, toilets, first aiders, police in attendance and cheering spectators along most of the course. The Half-Marathon, 10km Road Race and 5km Fun Run, start and finish at the Pafos Medieval Castle which dates back to the Byzantine period of the 13th century. This area by the fishing harbour is transformed into the atmospheric ‘event village’, hosting a number of services as well as baggage collection, post-race rehydration and massage. Enjoy a free beer and music, mingle with family and friends and then watch the awards ceremony.

Trophies are awarded to the first three overall in each of ten age-group categories for the Marathon, Half-Marathon and 10km races. All participants will receive their official technical t-shirt, race number with electronic timing chip and other goodies. All Logicom Cyprus Marathon finishers will receive a unique and race-specific medal to commemorate their achievement.

The Logicom Cyprus Marathon features a number of parallel events; the Marathon Expo (19-20 March), the Cyprus Marathon Symposium (19 March) and the Cyprus 5km Wine Run (23 March).

The official charity of the Logicom Cyprus Marathon is the ‘Karaiskakio Foundation’, a non-profit organisation established with the sole purpose of organising a volunteer Bone Marrow Register.

The Logicom Cyprus Marathon is dedicated to the Marathon Legend Stelios Kyriakides, the Cypriot who won the 1946 Boston Marathon in order to help 7 million hungry Greeks.
